Why Did You Start BSFS? I started BSFS after realizing the need for access to education around personal finance and entrepreneurship to be delivered to students in general and minority groups. Black individuals have particularly faced historical barriers and continue to face them today, when it comes to building and maintaining intergenerational wealth. Financial literacy is an integral part of education that should not be left on the sidelines for one to figure out on their own. I wish to aid individuals, especially those who are disadvantaged, in achieving their goals through the opportunities this club provides.

Fun Fact: I once travelled to Guatemala where I helped build the foundation of a school for the children of a rural village called “Vuelta Grande”, and learned how to dance the Bachata! I’m also a big fan of Italian cuisine and all things turquoise.
Why Did You Join BSFS? I joined BSFS because I believe in the importance of empowering people by equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed for effective financial management to achieve financial wellness. With my experience in social justice and racial equity advocacy, and my interest in entrepreneurship, I saw this as an opportunity for me to pursue my passion for racial justice in business by promoting financial education to help close the racial gap in financial literacy.

Why Did You Join BSFS?: I joined McGill BSFS because after growing up in a predominately White city and with a biracial upbringing, I saw the disparity in the education and barriers of financial literacy as well as the lack of appreciation for Black-owned businesses.
